Russell and Sons is a long term family business that was established to serve the needs of the Dairy Farmer on the Darling Downs. ELECTRICIAN - Qualified Electrical Fitter / Mechanic

Job tasks and responsibilities

The primary purpose of this role is to install, maintain and repair domestic water pumps, while providing electrical and mechanical repair services to customers within the dairy and agricultural industries. This will be achieved through the following duties:

  • Diagnosis and fault finding of domestic water pumping systems

  • Onsite installation, maintenance, repair and testing of pumping equipment

  • Workshop repair and testing of a range of pumping equipment

  • Electrical maintenance and repairs

  • Customer service and sales support

  • Testing and tagging

  • General workshop duties

  • Assisting other departments within the business as required

  • Working safely and maintaining high-quality workmanship standards

 

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, it is important that you demonstrate the following skills, knowledge and/or abilities:

  • Electrical Fitter / Mechanic Licence

  • Current QLD Electrical Contractors Licence (Preferable)

  • Current driver's licence (manual vehicle)

  • Experience with pumping equipment and VF drives is advantageous but not essential

  • Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting abilities

  • Willingness to learn and get involved in all aspects of the business

  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

  • Ability to manage your time effectively and work independently

  • Commitment to workplace health and safety

  • Strong customer service and communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

STOREPERSON / COUNTER SALES

Job tasks and responsibilities

The purpose of this position is to ensure the integrity of our stock management systems, and to provide sales support to both internal and external customers. You will be responsible for the presentation of our showroom and stock storage areas, as well as the timely receipting and despatch of freight.

This will be achieved through the following duties:

  • Loading / Unloading of delivery & transport vehicles

  • Receipting, unpacking and stacking of incoming freight

  • Despatch of outgoing freight including local deliveries

  • Assisting internal customers with the procurement and transfer of stock and consumable items for jobs and workshop use

  • Sales of spare parts, consumables and wholegood items

  • Unboxing and assembly of wholegood items

  • Maintenance of stock and spare parts systems including barcoding

  • General Shop Duties (Shop presentation, locking up, etc)

 Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, it is important that you demonstrate the following skills, knowledge and/or abilities:

  • Demonstrated sales ability including spae parts interpretation

  • Open drivers licence for a manual vehicle

  • Forklift licence (Preferable)

  • High level of verbal communication skills and the ability to build rapport with others

  • Intermediate computer skills

  • Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to provide accurate and helpful advice

  • High level attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong organisational skills including the ability to manage your own time

  • Ability to follow policies and procedures with a strong focus on quality control

  • Willingness to learn, perform duties and get involved
