ELECTRICIAN - Qualified Electrical Fitter / Mechanic

Job tasks and responsibilities

The primary purpose of this role is to install, maintain and repair domestic water pumps, while providing electrical and mechanical repair services to customers within the dairy and agricultural industries. This will be achieved through the following duties:

  • Diagnosis and fault finding of domestic water pumping systems

  • Onsite installation, maintenance, repair and testing of pumping equipment

  • Workshop repair and testing of a range of pumping equipment

  • Electrical maintenance and repairs

  • Customer service and sales support

  • Testing and tagging

  • General workshop duties

  • Assisting other departments within the business as required

  • Working safely and maintaining high-quality workmanship standards

 

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, it is important that you demonstrate the following skills, knowledge and/or abilities:

  • Electrical Fitter / Mechanic Licence

  • Current QLD Electrical Contractors Licence (Preferable)

  • Current driver's licence (manual vehicle)

  • Experience with pumping equipment and VF drives is advantageous but not essential

  • Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting abilities

  • Willingness to learn and get involved in all aspects of the business

  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

  • Ability to manage your time effectively and work independently

  • Commitment to workplace health and safety

  • Strong customer service and communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • Strong team player

  • Ability to follow policies and procedures with a strong focus on quality control and health and safety

Parts & Equipment Sales Specialist

Job tasks and responsibilities

Every day is different. You'll be helping customers get back up and running, sourcing hard-to-find parts, learning about leading agricultural equipment, working alongside experienced technicians, and becoming the person customers know they can rely on.

You'll be part of a close-knit team where your knowledge grows every day, your ideas are valued, and your work genuinely makes a difference.

This will be achieved through the following duties:

  • Helping customers select and purchase the right spare parts, complete pumps, pumping equipment, water filtration products, and agricultural equipment.

  • Interpreting parts manuals and electronic catalogues to identify components.

  • Providing practical advice and exceptional customer service in-store, over the phone, and via email.

  • Preparing quotations, processing sales, and managing customer orders.

  • Working closely with our workshop and suppliers to source parts efficiently.

  • Receiving, unpacking, and organising stock.

  • Keeping our showroom well presented and welcoming.

  • Building strong relationships with customers who trust Russell & Sons for reliable advice.

  • General Shop Duties (Shop presentation, locking up, etc)

  • Forklift licence (Preferable)
